Here’s a quick and fun one for you, a hilarious Colbert segment in which he completely picks Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, & Mitt Romney to pieces for their absurd statements on global warming and clean energy:

The Colbert Report

Some days (OK, most days), I wish Colbert would actually run for office.

(For more on Obama’s gas, oil, and energy policies, check out this, this, and this post — each includes a recent Obama speech, actually based in reality.)

I’ve got to take Newt’s algae comments as an insult as in studying the possibilities for replacing fossil oil (liquid fuels) algal oil is the the only realistic solution at this point in time. (and if any other bio-fuel steps to the plate you can be sure that it too will be a micro-organism that produces it) These morons are pandering to the lowest common denominator and their “energy plans” are nothing short of CRIMINAL, not to mention as stupid as they are…

And besides, most fossil oil was produced by algae anyway

” These morons are pandering to the lowest common denominator and their “energy plans” are nothing short of CRIMINAL ”

      -Ditto.

And same on the rest of the comment. :D

That people take these three people seriously scares the crap out of me

Yeah, I thought when George W. was running for Prez that he had no chance of getting elected due to his string of failures leading up to that… but then he did (sort of). Then, thought the same about his re-election. Now, we’ve got completely bat-shit crazies running that make him look like a moderate, and I wonder how the heck the U.S. has become so completely idiotic to even give these people a shot.. let alone possibly vote them into office.

As recently as one year ago I knew conservatives who didn’t understand that Colbert was comedian. I wonder what they thought when the audience laughed.

I have always wondered about that. I mean, i can imagine a lot of people thinking a lot of what he says is his actual opinion. One reason why I think he could win in many a political race. :D

Hilarious. But this is something I’ve thought many times — I bet a ton of folks don’t get Colbert’s humor at all and think he’s serious. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if he ran for office one day and had no trouble getting elected.
