Google, Citi invest $200M more in wind project

Google Inc. and Citigroup Inc. are making an additional, combined investment of more than $200 million in a massive California wind-energy facility, the companies said Wednesday.

Google GOOG -1.11% and Citigroup C -0.77% will each invest $102 million in the second phase of the Alta Wind Energy Wind Energy Center in Tehachapi, Calif., near Bakersfield That comes in addition to the $55 million each company previously invested in the facility, which is being developed by Terra-Gen Power….

DOE offers $135.76M loan guarantee for 99MW wind farm

After a week of announcing five loan guarantees for solar projects, the Department of Energy is now turning the spotlight on wind energy. On Tuesday, the DOE said it has offered a $135.76 million loan guarantee for a wind farm in New Hampshire….

78 MW order for one of the largest wind parks to be built in Sweden

With reference to Vestas Wind Systems A/S’ company announcement No. 27/2011 of 20 June 2011, Vestas Northern Europe has received an order from Sjisjka Vind AB for delivery of 30 units of the V100-2.6 MW wind turbine. Sjiskja Vind AB is a project finance company co-owned by wind developer O2 (25 per cent), utility provider Jämtkraft (25 per cent) and construction company Skanska Infrastructure Development (50 per cent). The turbines will be installed at the Sjisjka wind park in a sub-mountainous area in the municipality of Gällivare in the northern parts of Sweden….

Siemens to Invest in Wind Power on Offshore Demand

Siemens AG (SIE) plans to invest 150 million euros ($214 million) in wind research-and-development and production over the next two years as demand for offshore turbines picks up….

Germany scraps plan to cut wind industry
