Altitude Partners With Greenglow For 50,000+ Tons Of CDRs In Southeast Asia
Altitude, a global leader in carbon dioxide removal (CDR) financing, has secured more than 50,000 tons of CDRs from Southeast Asian carbon hubs operated by Greenglow. The CO₂ Removal Certificates (CORCs) will be verified and issued through the Puro Registry, ensuring transparency and durability. It’s part of Altitude’s efforts to become the world’s most significant platform to finance CDR.
Greenglow’s carbon hubs bring together facilities converting agricultural waste and forestry residues into biochar through advanced pyrolysis technology. The process locks away carbon for centuries while delivering local benefits such as improved soil fertility and reduced health risks from waste burning, all while decreasing fertilizer usage and costs.
With this new commitment in South East Asia, Altitude is scaling its role as a global leader in durable carbon removal, making the firm a top global carbon removal buyer, according to cdr.fyi.
“Our work with Altitude and their commitment to over 50,000 tons of future CORCs enables Greenglow to build strong and scalable infrastructure,” added Michael Kuerschner, Co-Founder of Greenglow.
The partnership underscores growing momentum for biochar as a scalable and verifiable carbon removal solution with both climate and community impact, and builds on Altitude financing +25.000t CDRs in Western Africa.
Southeast Asia is a very important region with tremendous biochar CDR potential. A supporting development has been pushed by the Malaysian Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (KPK) and its National Biomass Action Plan 2030 – with more to come across all Southeast Asian countries.
