According to their Facebook page, the goal was a Super Long Autopilot Dragon event and to challenge the world record. This was their way of announcing the unity of Taiwan’s friendship with the Tesla community to the whole world. Not only did they meet their goal, but they did something phenomenal. They managed to land Tesla in the news in a positive way!
Many US news reports about Tesla are negative, and the same goes for stories about Elon Musk — often portrayed with photos of him looking stressed, anxious, or upset. In the case of Taiwan, this was different. This was a show of unity, love for a brand, and something positive as they all used Autopilot to drive safely.
This was a marketing strategy to promote their love for Tesla — a strategy that they were not paid to do, but did so anyway because of their love of the product and company — and it made the news.
The Tesla Community Is A Force To Be Reckoned With
The Tesla community is a group of people from all over the world who love Tesla, own Teslas, own stock in Tesla, or are fans — or all of the above. Many have come together in Facebook groups, on Twitter, on Reddit, and on YouTube, and love sharing their love for Tesla. Despite all the negative headlines, Tesla’s community has proven to be a force to be reckoned with. This is an international community that cannot and will not be ignored.
