Tesla Model X Insane Towing Power & Tug Of War, Tesla Model 3 RHD, Swiss Police, & More! (Elon’s March 22 Twitter Fest)

Elon Musk is a man who gets around. A few days ago he was in Israel. On March 22 at 6:22 am he tweeted that he had just returned from the Gigafactory in Nevada and would be at the Tesla factory in Fremont later in the day. In the wee hours of the morning, he fired off a series of tweets about the Model X and Model 3, leading some to question when, if ever, the serial entrepreneur sleeps.

Tesla Model X Has Prodigious Towing Power

Musk featured a trio of tweets about the Model X showing off its prodigious towing power. First up, a Model X outmuscling a Camaro 350 IROC Z-28.

Next, a video of another Model X towing an 18 wheeler through snow. (Why the truck was unable to make the journey on its own is unclear. The snow is about 2″ deep and the road is flat. Semis have negotiated far worse without outside assistance.)

And then the pièce de resistance, a Model X lugging a quarter million pounds of debris from a tunnel boring machine out of a tunnel. Fascinating what a vehicle can do when you don’t have to worry about burning out a clutch!

In response to a customer in the UK asking when his Model 3 with right-hand drive might be available, Musk had this to say:

Electric Cars For Swiss Police

Swiss police have created a controversy lately by opting to use Model X vehicles for patrol duty, replacing the diesel-powered sedans they used previously. The Teslas cost considerably more than the standard cruisers, but the police claim they are the best cars for the job. Musk, of course, agrees.

For Tesla news junkies, it has been quite a day and it has barely even started yet. While the world waits for news about Model 3 deliveries, the irrepressible Mr. Musk is forging ahead with his plan to bury the internal combustion engine and help make the Earth a sustainable place to live.
