SunEdison Partnering With Jinergy For 1.5 GW Integrated N-type Heterojunction Solar Cell Production Facility

SunEdison and a subsidiary of the state-owned Chinese company Jinneng Group, Jinergy Clean Energy Technology Company, are partnering for the creation of a 1.5 gigawatt integrated N-type mono-crystalline hetero-junction solar cell production facility in Shanxi Jinzhong Industrial Park, Shanxi, China, according to recent reports.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the new 1.5 gigawatt (GW) manufacturing plant was recently announced by Jinergy, a company that was created just back in late 2013.

Groundbreaking on the subsidiary’s first facility — a 500 megawatt (MW) production plant for n-type mono-crystalline solar cells, also featuring 600 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing capacity — occurred in March 2014.
