Turtuga Blanku, a recording artist whose studio is completely powered by solar power, has released another album. He has also release a YouTube series called “Time For A Break.”
I previously covered Turtuga Blanku’s solar-powered music studio in May 2012. Check that out for a little background and my favorite song from Turtuga’s last album.
Once you’re caught up, here’s the first single from his newest album:
In an email to me, Turtuga recently wrote a short description of the song: “of course it is a solar powered indie pop-song (for lack of better genre description) made in my little studio called the Green Machine. It is basically about not taking it all too seriously all the time, about seizing opportunities every now and them, or: carpe diem.”
The song can also be listened to on the Turtuga Blanku website, soundcloud, and bandcamp.
Check out the whole album for more.
Beyond the album, Turtuga’s new YouTube series, “Time For A break,” is now running. It is “about (nature) things going on inside and outside of my Caribbean solar powered studio,” Turtuga writes. The description from the first episode, called ‘Iguana,” says:
I turn sunshine into music, literally. And when it is time for a break, I only have to look outside the windows of my solar studio to find some entertainment. Check it the things that can happen in and around my solar studio in the Caribbean!

Have to love his accent. 😀
