XPENG Sales Up 238% in January
XPENG had quite a good 2024, but 2025 is entering with fireworks that make the 2024 results look like sparklers. XPENG’s January 2025 sales were 238% higher than its January 2024 sales.
With 30,350 deliveries, this was the third month in a row that XPENG exceeded 30,000 sales. More than 15,000 units of the XPENG MONA M03 were delivered for the second month in a row. Additionally, the new XPENG P7+ already reached 20,000 cumulative deliveries — “within just two months of launch.”
This is massive news for XPENG’s continued growth story and aims. The company wants to get scale up enough to start making a net profit. If you extrapolate January’s sales out 12 months, that would equal 364,200 sales for the year as a whole.
Perhaps more notably — or just as notably — the company has big numbers to share regarding use of its semi-autonomous driving system. “XNGP’s monthly active user penetration rate in urban driving reached 87% in January 2025.” 87%! That’s wild.
“At the same time, XPENG rolled out its latest XOS version, AI Tianji 5.5.0, introducing ‘door-to-door’ ADAS and other advanced smart driving features, such as the world’s first coach vehicle recognition with bypassing capability, to eligible customers across China. The update brings a seamless smart driving experience to owners across diverse scenarios, including parking, highways and urban roads.” This system is quite similar to Tesla’s Full Self Driving (FSD) system. Though, very few people have had the opportunity to use and test both systems, and the systems are constantly evolving, so comparisons can quickly become out of date.
