Tesla’s 35,000th Supercharger Is A Milestone For EV Charging

Tesla China has announced Tesla’s 35,000th Supercharger, a milestone for EV charging. The Supercharger opened in Wuhan, China, and Tesla China noted that Tesla owns the largest fast-charging network in the world.

Tesla is continuing to expand its Supercharger network, which is a key advantage for the company in terms of profitability and EV charging accessibility for its customers. Though, eventually, Tesla plans to open its Supercharging network to non-Tesla EV owners, and it’s already started that in Europe.

Last month it was announced that Tesla opened its network in several countries in Europe to non-Tesla EV owners. Tesla’s goal is to open the network as a means of encouraging more drivers to switch from fossil-fueled vehicles to EVs.

In addition to this, Tesla’s continued expansion of its charging network is proving to be an asset to the company, especially as the topic of EV charging infrastructure becomes a commonly talked about topic. A writer with the Wall Street Journal penned her experience driving from New Orleans to Chicago and back and her trip was not a great experience, but she wasn’t driving a Tesla and emphasized that.

It would provide great feedback for both Tesla and companies that are competing with it in this space. Tesla will continue to expand its Supercharger network, and I think that once the testing in Europe gives Tesla the results it needs, perhaps we’ll see Tesla Superchargers here in the US open up to non-Tesla EVs.
