Lucid Motors Introduces Its New California Headquarters
Lucid has introduced its new Californian headquarters and says it is moving closer to producing the Air. The upcoming Lucid Air is amazing, so we hope it won’t be too long … until we ride in it again, until we drive one, and until it’s actually being produced.
When startups outgrow their facilities, they obviously need to move on. That’s what Lucid is telling us when it says it is getting closer to its vision for the future of luxury mobility with the Air. The Lucid Air has already set a few impressive speed records and is maturing well for a fairly reasonable estimated price, considering the performance.
Moving out of their current Luci Menlo Park headquarters into the Pacific Research Center, the new facility will be twice the size of the current one. Lucid feels it will be sufficient, with enough room to grow and get the Air to market.
We are told the new headquarters will bring under the same roof a larger design studio with more lab and office space. It will also bring together the collaborative design and engineering team and put it a few blocks away from the Lucid prototype shop.
Will We See The Lucid Air In Two Years?
Lucid’s announcement is about making room to produce the Air, which it promised to deliver in two years. Since then, the company reached out to Ford to see if a deal could be struck. But Ford turned it down. This leads to ask the question, is Ford working on a Lucid Air killer? After all, isn’t everyone working on a Tesla killer of some sort, truck companies alike?
We hope to see more from the Lucid Air soon and we certainly wouldn’t turn down a test drive for this amazing car. (Hint, hint, nudge, nudge. Lucid, we’re ready.)
