Siemens Awarded Wind Turbine Contract For 324 MW In New Mexico & Texas
Siemens has been awarded a wind turbine contract to supply 324 MW to adjacent wind projects in New Mexico and Texas.
Siemens will provide 141 of its SWT-2.3-108 turbines to Pattern Energy Group, which is developing the 324 MW Broadview Wind project, combining two adjacent wind projects in New Mexico and Texas.
Construction is already underway, and Siemens expects to begin installing the turbines this month. Upon completion, which is expected for the last quarter of this year, Broadview Wind will generate enough clean electricity for approximately 180,000 US homes. Siemens will also provide long-term service and maintenance for the project, including remote monitoring and diagnostic services.

The SWT-2.3-108 wind turbines have a rotor diameter of 108 meters, and a hub height of 80 meters. Siemens will install 105 turbines for a total of 241 MW in the New Mexico section of Broadview, and 36 wind turbines totaling 83 MW at the Texas section.
