Gamesa Signs 150 MW Order In Brazil
Spanish wind energy company Gamesa has announced a firm order for 150 MW in Brazil, bringing its fiscal-year 2014 cumulative total up to 3,300 MW.
Another 13 of Gamesa’s G97-2.0 MW turbines will be installed at the Papagaio and Coqueirinho wind farms, and 8 more G97-2.0 MW will be delivered to the Tamanduá Mirim 2 wind farm, located in the state of Bahia. These projects are expected to begin operating in the first half of 2016.
These orders are being backdated to affect 2014 figures, for a fiscal year running January to December (though no reason is given by Gamesa as to why they have released this information so far into the first quarter of 2015).
Gamesa has been doing quite well in Brazil of late, only last month announcing a contract for the supply of 84 MW of wind turbines to the Iberdrola-Neoenergia consortium in Brazil. Three wind farms located in Rio Grande do Norte will receive G114-2.0 MW turbines — 15 at the Santana 1 wind farm, 15 at the Calango 6 wind farm, and 12 at the Santana 2 wind farm.
In addition to its Brazil contracts, Gamesa picked up a 92 MW order for two new projects in China — one to supply 50 MW to Hebei Construction & Investment Group for the Nandianziliang wind complex located in the province of Shanxi, in northern China, and the second for a 42 MW supply contract to Chinese wind farm developer UPC for the Huangyan wind farm in the province of Zhejiang, in eastern China.
Gamesa was also awarded a 46 MW contract to several customers in India, providing 23 G97-2.0 MW turbines to three wind farms.
