Electric Suzuki Van Travels Over 800 Miles Per Charge
On Friday, a Japanese team set a world record for the longest distance travelled by an electric vehicle on a single charge. It is a modified Suzuki Every van, and the Japanese team drove it an impressive 807 miles (1,300 km) on a single charge!
This was achieved by a team of four drivers, including 64-year-old Kenjiro Shinozuka, on a 25 km course in the Village of Ogata, which is in the Akita Prefecture. The four drivers each took turns at driving, driving at an average speed of 30 km/h (18 mph).
According to The Japan Times, the team intends to file this with the Guinness Book Of World Records, as they believe they exceeded the previous record of 1,003.2 km.
