Aloha Aquarius Fest!
It’s coming! Tomorrow! I’m so so excited to welcome you to the first ever Aquarius Fest, where we celebrate all the beautiful traits of the Aquarius — creativity, innovation, community building, forward thinking, and idealism. And we try to work with the Aquarius tendencies for rebellion and hard headedness. LOL
Here’s the TL;DR info, and if you want more, it’s all there, just keep reading (such a rare and rebellious thing to do these days to keep reading!)
FULL DAY PARTICIPANTS:
Doors open at 3:15 PM tomorrow. We’ll get you checked in, and show you where to go for yoga and sound bath.
Packing list — for the full day participants:
- ID for check in — no need to print your tix
- Yoga mat
- Towel
- Swimwear
-
- Snacks, if you want some (dinner will be a 3 course meal, served at 7, but other than that, there will be no food on premises)
- Water bottle
- Eye mask and pillow (if you want them for sound bath)
- Change of clothes for evening party (there will be a place you can change)
-
- BYO beverage of choice for the dinner (AWAKENED MANA KOMBUCHA WILL BE ON SITE FOR PURCHASE!)
- Bug spray if you are particularly susceptible to skeeters… with the recent rains, we might have some, though we don’t get many. We will have some bug spray, but if you know you’re gonna need it, bring it… you know who you are!
- Feel free to bring a camping chair, too, if you have one you love and that will make you feel comfy throughout the night.
JUST THE PARTY PEEPS!
For those just coming for the party, you can check in anytime 8:30 onwards. The live music will go from 8:30–9:30 (local producer Fyrie), and 9:30–11:00 (DJ Pair-A-Dice), after which we will hand out silent disco headsets at the registration table.
Packing list — y’all don’t need to bring bubkus — just your dancing shoes and good vibes. 🙂
WHERE IS ECOTOPIA??
Address is 1944 Puowaina Drive.
When you arrive, please come down the driveway to the end, where you’ll find the check-in table, and you’ll be shown around the space when you arrive. There will be several Good Vibes zones available to you throughout the fest.
As always, I encourage carpooling, and of course if it’s best not to drive home after, please choose to take a Lyft/Uber. If you do drive, there is ample street parking up the hill on the left side of the road as you’re driving up, downhill, and on the intersection of Puowaina and Prospect.
We’re encouraging you to wear blue or white — theme colors for the Aquarius Fest — for the evening portion of the event… but feel no obligation… you do you, independent Aquarius-minded friend.
Any questions, don’t hesitate to text me, 808-312-0850
… and here’s the rest of the TLDR for those interested. 🙂
For those coming for the day activities, at check-in, you’ll receive a unique wristband coordinated to your ticket type, play a fun (creative, innovative…) game with our check-in crew, then be able to go set your yoga mat down. We’ll show you where Cecilia will set up to instruct the class, and how the sound bath will be arranged, so you can plan accordingly and get a spot you’ll love. Be sure to keep your towel by your mat, as you might want to cover yourself after yoga to stay warm and cozy for the full sound bath. (Which runs 5-6 PM).
As the sound bath winds down, we will have a small ceremony to help ourselves heal and grow with the intention that we can then better serve humanity and our Earthly home in our own idealistic way.
You’ll have a place to store your yoga mat in the closet of our Good Vibes room. We’ll show you where, once yoga and sound bath are done.
The wood-fired sauna (with wood from our property!) should be hot and ready for you to get your sweat on, after which you can shower off (we’ll show you where to do this so that we don’t get the dancefloor wet), hop in the ice bath (a way to exercise that hard headedness in a healthy way…), and then hop in the hot tub. That’s the circuit – feel free to do it more than once, if it serves you. Please keep expectations for most of the event high – we hold ourselves to a standard of excellence as Aquarii, but with one exception – the hot tub is just that – a hot tub of water….don’t expect luxurious jets, room for 12 or cup holders galore. But it is awesome regardless, and helps complete the circuit.
Dinner will be buffet style, help yourself, and we are encouraging you to take a small portion, go find a table, meet some friends, build community, and then go for more food, find another table, make some more friends. There will be several seating areas, and you’re also welcome to sit on the deck, stairs, day bed, or on your yoga mats on the grass if you like. Whatever makes you happy.
Food should be labeled for those of you with any allergies, but it is your responsibility to ensure your safety if you have severe allergies and ask the caterer if you have any doubts…just like the compost or recycle bin, when in doubt, leave it out – don’t put something in your tummy that might ruin the rest of your Aquarius Fest, or worse!
Ecotopia
Aquarius Fest is going to be held on a special property – we call it Ecotopia, named after one of my favorite books. 7 years ago, this property was a foreign owned investment property that resembled a tenement structure. The only yard maintenance that was done was a regular spray of Roundup to keep the weeds down. After a major investment in permaculture, soil building, and renovations, Ecotopia stands today as a type of urban eco village, powered entirely by solar power, including power for 8 residents, 2 EVs and the hot tub that all run on pollution-free photons. We send hundreds of dollars of clean energy to our neighbors every month, too. 🙂 We’ve integrated community spaces throughout the property to encourage residents to interact, share food, and enjoy each others’ company.
We will proudly show you the results of our forward thinking and methodical approach wherein we focused on building soil and planted trees 6 and change years ago. You can follow Ecotopia on IG at EcotopiaHawaii. We regularly do volunteer gardening days that end with spa treatments for volunteers and a community-building meal, which we will announce on our IG, so if you’re interested in that, follow us there.
