How TSLAQ Got Played In China

November 15th, 2019 | by Johnna Crider

TSLAQ got played in China. It seems that the forces against Tesla are not that brilliant after all. Not only do they believe the lies they make up (never advisable), but they are apparently just gullible when it comes to anything potentially negative about Tesla. All one has to do is create a new Twitter account and tweet anti-Tesla stuff and they are in. Our favorite Tesla Gigafisherman, Chao Zhou, put this theory to the test — although, he may have done so without knowing it

The Conspiracy Against Tesla … Is Too Obvious

August 15th, 2019 | by Guest Contributor

I generally eschew conspiracy theories under the rubric that little explained by conspiracy cannot as well be explained by incompetence and that the occurrence of stupid is vastly more common than the occurrence of evil in the hearts and minds of men

Betting Against Tesla Is Betting Against Yourself

June 18th, 2019 | by Johnna Crider

To the average American, Tesla is just another topic in the news alongside China, Trump, the weather, terrorism, national disasters, local sports, and celebrity gossip. They have their morning coffee, rush to work, and glance at the news on their phones. Actually, many Americans work rotating shifts. Those shifts may begin at 9:00 PM at night -- and they may not have time to catch up on the news. Unless someone is exposed to Tesla via a customer, fan, or shareholder, they will often only know from what they hear or see in the news

Jim Cramer Explains How Short Sellers Manipulate Stocks — Like Tesla (TSLA)

March 6th, 2019 | by Zachary Shahan

Having a sociology background, I have to say that the whole Tesla short seller drama is fascinating. In the year 2019, that includes flamewars on social media, paid trolls & misleading message makers, ties to mainstream media, fanboys & fangirls fighting back, and even a legal battle between the SEC and Twitter-loving CEO Elon Musk. Oh yeah, and billions of dollars on the line

A Short History Of Tesla Critics’ Claims

March 4th, 2019 | by Zachary Shahan

As time goes on, some things become clear, and some urban legends grow in scope and popularity. I've found it pretty interesting to go back in time and compare Tesla critics' forecasts and predictions to what actually happened. But I realized I've never done a really short and simple summary of that history. There's surely more that could be added, but here's my summary of Tesla critics' claims over the years

Tesla Crushes Records, Wall Street Expects More — Miracles?

January 3rd, 2019 | by Zachary Shahan

I have to admit, it's pretty hilarious sometimes to see how Wall Street responds to Tesla news. It's also hilarious to see the wild and ridiculous nonsense some Tesla [TSLA] short sellers or professional trolls spout. I understand that people live in different internet and ideological bubbles these days, but still, the degree to which some grumbling, mumbling critics grumble and mumble about Tesla (and CleanTechnica) cracks me up from time to time

Major Tesla Short Seller Switches To Long, Cites 4 CleanTechnica Charts

October 23rd, 2018 | by Kyle Field

Longtime Tesla short firm Citron Research has totally flipped on Tesla [TSLA]. It has gotten straight from its position shorting the stock all the way on over to a comfortable long position in the stock, according to a report issued by the firm today. The longtime shorter of Tesla's stock issued a multi-page report to justify its change of heart, citing numerous charts from CleanTechnica in support of the change — well, four charts out of the 18 we published on Sunday
