The most popular stories on CleanTechnica last week covered the hottest topics in cleantech, naturally. As it turns out, a certain Silicon Valley company is dominating “hotness” in this space. Tesla has made cleantech S-3-X-Y, and last week was particularly big due to all the ways people were inspired to write and read about the Model Y — as well as the Model 3, Tesla Solar Roof, and Model S & X.
After so much anticipation, Elon Musk walked on stage at the LA Design Studio in Hawthorne, California, and introduced Tesla’s newest addition to its lineup, the Model Y. Fortunately, Model Y looks to share much commonality with Model 3, which could translate to a production ramp that moves more rapidly than prior new cars introduced by Tesla.
The German minister for Economic Affairs, Peter Altmaier, has delivered a hardcore smackdown to local auto giants, asking them when they will build EVs that are “half as sexy as a Tesla.”
