Tesla has published its official 4th quarter 2020 and full-year 2020 vehicle production and delivery numbers. Details are below. They show that Troy Teslike, whose estimates I wrote about yesterday, was off by only 3,142 for the full year. In other words, not much changes from yesterday's discussion, but scroll down for the details and new CleanTechnica charts

"Troy Teslike" obsessively tracks Tesla registration data. He has a superb history when it comes to Tesla sales estimates (delivery estimates) at the end of each quarter. He also occasionally contributes articles for CleanTechnica and will do so much more in 2021. For now, though, he has shared his 2020 Tesla delivery estimates and I will dig into them to highlight the points that stand out to me, as well as create a couple of charts based on these figures

I was browsing the Tesla site at the start of the 3rd quarter, noticing that new inventory of cars was very low according to both tesla.com and ev-cpo.com. Tesla didn't sell out of inventory in the same way they did some quarters, but they drew it down pretty low

There has been a lot of talk about Tesla's Model Y current production numbers. James shared on Twitter that, "Much has been speculated as to why the Model Y delivery time moved from 8-12 weeks to 4-8 weeks (in the U.S.)"

Tesla has yet again broken some records. This time it broke its previous 1st quarter production and delivery records. With 102,672 vehicles produced and 88,400 delivered, despite both its Fremont factory and its Shanghai Gigafactory being shut down for periods of time last quarter due to the coronavirus

I have to admit to some shame picking up my Tesla Model Y Performance in the middle of this pandemic, but Tesla has designed a thoughtful "touchless" delivery that minimizes chance for contact between customers and delivery staff. To get to the Tampa Delivery Center, I took wipes, a mask, and gloves for my Lyft ride there (my cost). Luis Manuel had sanitized his car and we kept our distance between driver and passenger

The news today, provided to CleanTechnica on email by early Model Y reservation holders, is that the Model Y production timeline got significantly better and deliveries for non-employee customers begin in March

Slipped into other news in Tesla's fresh shareholder letter, and also mentioned briefly and without emphasis on today's conference call, was the news that Tesla has started limited production of the Model Y. It was announced in a super quiet way, but this is the first official announcement regarding Tesla Model Y production starting in this quarter, let alone January

There's been some chatter on the interwebs that some Model Y reservation owners have received calls confirming their Model Y orders and telling them where their deliveries will occur. One person claims that the Tesla staff member who talked to him or her
