A new Tesla Autopilot update (one most Tesla owners haven’t received yet) is now reflected in the traffic lights manual. Well known Twitter user “green”/@greentheonly shared an image on Twitter and a quick note about the update.
Tesla’s Autopilot has been hailed as the ultimate platform for developing a fully autonomous driving solution. After 8 months of owning our Tesla Model 3, Tesla shrunk down the base Autopilot package by removing a few features, and at the same time dropping the after-purchase price from $7,000 for Enhanced Autopilot to $4,000 for the new Autopilot package. It felt like the right time to pull the trigger on the update, so we made the purchase on March 1st.
Tesla opened up its 14-day Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) trial for some Model 3 owners over the weekend and we were included in the update. We wanted to share our learnings from the first few days of using the solution around town and on the highway.
Tesla owners who did not purchase the Enhanced Auto Pilot system when the bought their cars will now get a 14 day free trial. If they like it, they can buy it just by touching a button on their touchscreen.
My second “real,” long drive on Autopilot (from Wroclaw to Berlin) demonstrated to me two places in which Autopilot is brilliantly lovable. These, imho, are the situations in which Autopilot is like collecting mushrooms in Mario Bros.
