South Africa Solar Power Project Financed by OPIC

The US development finance agency will provide as much as $250 million in financing for MEMC and its SunEdison solar energy subsidiary, along with two local companies, to develop a 60-megawatt PV facility in the Free State province town of Boshoff. The project is the result of the companies' successful bid in South Africa's historic Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Program.
