For anyone with an interest in renewable energy, it’s hard to miss the rising interest in floating solar over the last couple of months. Tenders, project announcements, and newly delivered plants pop-up on a weekly, if not daily basis. Last week’s World Bank Market Report stated that we’ve reached 1.3 GWp capacity.
Australia is adding one mega-solar project equivalent per month, with the current installed base of 10 gigawatts projected to double by the end of 2020. The latest mega-solar project is the 333 megawatt Darlington Point Solar Farm headed for Griffith, New South Wales, according to Array Technologies, which is providing the single-axis trackers for the project.
This week SolarPlaza has launched a live monitor of all the European blockchain projects in the energy sector. Under the name Blockchain2Energy Europe Solarplaza is hosting its third conference focused on the practical and current-day applications of blockchain in the energy sector. It’s scheduled for the 13th of February in Amsterdam.
