The Schletter Group has emerged from its US unit’s bankruptcy earlier this year to begin delivering a new, more stable solar tracker to the North America, Asia, and Australia markets, with one recent sale in Zimbabwe. The company also is installing bifacial solar panels for the first time on its new tracker in Germany, says Christian Salzeder, the new chief sales officer for Schletter in Kirchdorf, Germany.
Collins Electrical, a leading solar contractor in California, has forged a strategic partnership with Mechatron Solar, and has installed a demonstration model of the M18KD next to its corporate headquarters in Stockton. The contractor/developer will recommend the Mechatron tracker for commercial and industrial solar projects because of its high energy yield and low levelized (total lifetime) cost of energy, says Gene Gini, CEO of Collins.
A new report published this week from GTM Research shows that the amount of solar PV trackers shipped in 2017 increased 32% year-over-year, as California-based NEXTracker retains its top spot and accounts for a third of all trackers sold last year.
Array Technologies, the self-proclaimed leading solar tracking solutions and services company, announced Tuesday that it had shipped 6 GW worth of solar trackers globally, only a fortnight after GTM Research reported that Array was leading shipments of solar trackers in the United States.
