As Elon Musk expected, Tesla’s acquisition of SolarCity was overwhelmingly approved by shareholders. Over 85% of shareholders approved. Interestingly, that matches up quite closely with reader surveys we conducted. In our initial survey, 74% of respondents supported the acquisition. In our second survey a few months later, 89% of respondents supported the acquisition.
The prominent advisory firm Institutional Shareholder Services has given its recommendation to support Tesla’s $2.3 billion SolarCity acquisition/merger, telling shareholders that Tesla would be able to bridge the funding gap with SolarCity, and also that the acquisition was an important step in the firm’s path to becoming an integrated sustainable energy company.
Among CleanTechnica readers who personally invest in the stock market, Tesla (TSLA) is probably the stock with the most interest, and SolarCity (SCTY) is likely up there near the top of the list as well.
