The Santa Monica Alt Car Expo is consistently packed to the brim with useful people and experiences, which makes it one of the best events at promoting plug-in and alternative fuel vehicles. Year after year, I look forward to attending to not only see and drive the latest electric, plug-in hybrid, and fuel cell vehicles, but to also meet up with the team of people who actually know all the ins and outs of the car.
This weekend kicked off the 7th annual National Drive Electric Week, which sees electric vehicle advocates taking to the streets en masse with creative new ways to spread the word about electric vehicles. The week runs September 9–17 this year, which means two fun-filled weekends packed with events.
Cities are where most of the world’s people live, and they can make the move toward cleantech and away from burning up the planet go much, much — much — faster. In fact, some policies could trump critical levers like ZEV mandates, and if adopted broadly, make the ZEV transition happen faster than most of us think possible.
