Corporations around the world signed a record volume of Power Purchase Agreements in 2017, amounting to 5.4 gigawatts of clean energy by 43 companies across 10 different countries, which is an impressive 25% increase over 2016.
Many corporations, focused on the relentless pursuit of profits, make their money at the expense of the people, and the planet. The only proper purpose of any business is to serve the society in which it operates, and to contribute to the protection of the planet we all depend on for our existence. Corporate renewable energy purchase agreements are a big deal in the United States and Europe, but Australia is lagging well behind the rest of the world.
