On Tuesday, we looked at the unveiling of the wildly impressive Lucid Motors Air at the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles. The Air’s performance was already noteworthy on paper, but my test ride was beyond expectations. I haven’t been this happy about a new electric vehicle, EV since the unveiling of the Tesla Model S P90D, and before that, the Roadster and AC Propulsion’s eBox.

When we covered news of an interesting test ride in the Lucid Motors Air prototype a few weeks ago, we noted that the experience included a short demonstration of the vehicle’s self-driving capabilities. Given the way things are headed in the auto industry, the company understandably seems to be aware that self-driving features will be an expected component in luxury offerings within only a few years.
