A number of developing countries have been identified as leaders in sustainable energy, according to a new analysis by the World Bank, but there is nevertheless still tremendous room for improvement across the globe, and especially in Sub-Saharan Africa, which currently ranks as the least electrified continent on the planet.
A year after signing an agreement with Jordan’s National Electric Power Company to set up the largest solar project in the country, Masdar Group has finalized the financier for the projects.

Abu Dhabi-based Masdar Group has announced plans to set up a 200 MW solar power project in Jordan. The project will be the largest solar power project in Jordan. The project development will be overseen by Masdar subsidiary Baynouna Solar Energy Company.
The International Finance Corporation, a member of World Bank Group, has announced plans to finance Jordan’s US$76 million solar project in collaboration with the Canadian government.
