Solar Energy System Approvals Surge Following Launch of Japan’s Renewable Energy Feed-in Tariff

Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry has approved 725 megawatts of new renewable power installations in just two months, a pace that sets it on track to exceed end of March 2013's projected total by the end of 2012. More than 80% of the total approved through the end August are large-scale, non-residential solar PV systems.
