At this stage of Tesla’s impressive growth, there are well over 1 million Tesla owners. But only a tiny percentage have owned all four mainstream Tesla vehicles—Model S, Model X, Model 3, and Model Y. I’m one of the few that have been able to do that.
I have to admit to some shame picking up my Tesla Model Y Performance in the middle of this pandemic, but Tesla has designed a thoughtful “touchless” delivery that minimizes chance for contact between customers and delivery staff. To get to the Tampa Delivery Center, I took wipes, a mask, and gloves for my Lyft ride there (my cost). Luis Manuel had sanitized his car and we kept our distance between driver and passenger.

The most popular CleanTechnica articles of the past week, naturally, included a few pieces related to the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic that’s shutting down half the world. Otherwise, hot topics were the Tesla Model Y (have to wonder how much this vehicle would dominate some portions of the news and public consciousness if not for COVID-19), the Volkswagen ID.3 and overall ID lineup/strategy, and other EV and Tesla news and analyses.
The clouds of uncertainty over the Tesla Model Y’s specs and dimensions have finally cleared up now that the automaker has started deliveries of the Model Y midsize electric SUV (last Friday). A serious push in Model Y deliveries should be expected this week, gaining momentum till the end of the current month (end of TSLA Q1 2020).
The Tesla Model Y Performance has gotten its first dynamic driving review, from the guys at Throttle House. They find it to have class-leading real-world acceleration and a much lower center of gravity — and much better value — than any fossil fuelled performance crossover.

Living in a car, van, or RV doesn’t appeal to that many people, but for the intrepid minority who do live this lifestyle, it can offer some unconventional and enriching experiences for those who choose mobile living out of necessity or for those who do so for the freedom to travel as much as their budgets allow.
Hitting the 25,000 km (15,534 mile) mark in 8 months seems like a good excuse to let you all in on how things are working out for me and my Tesla Model 3.
Car and Driver recently compared the 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S to the 2020 Tesla Model S Performance (which includes “Raven” batteries). The comparison claimed that Tesla’s Model S finally has a rival in the 2020 Porsche Taycan.
