2017 was another big year for the deployment of electric buses in China, with 89,546 electric buses deployed, but who supplies the batteries that are creating the world’s largest electric bus fleets in the world? For this, we need to find the 2017 Chinese installed capacity.
February is traditionally the slowest selling month in China, but with electric car sales at around 34,000, there’s not much to complain about — numbers were up 88% year over year (YoY), making this by far the best February ever.

The rise and rise of the Chinese plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) market is unstoppable, with yet another record performance in December. A total of 102,000 new passenger PEVs were registered last month, up 130% year over year. Yes, that was just December, and it pulled the year-to-date count to over 600,000 units, up 71% compared to 2016.
Tesla has long been seen as a rebel of the auto world, but it’s becoming a bit mainstream, no? I’m inspired to do a long piece on this … but not yet.
