ABB Lands $55 Million Eolicas do Sul Contract for Substation, Equipment Infrastructure

Installed Wind Power Capacity Up 21% Globally in 2011

Market statistics released Tuesday by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) show that over 41,000 megawatts (or 41 gigawatts) of new wind power was installed globally in 2011, bringing the overall total of installed capacity around the world to more than 238,000 megawatts (238 gigawatts) by the end of 2011. This represents an increase of 21 percent with an increase in the size of the annual global market of just over six percent


80% of Contracts in Latest Brazil Power Auction Are for Wind Power

Brazil to Triple Renewable Energy by 2020 (Focus on Wind)

Germany, South Korea, Japan, and China aren't the only countries looking to up step on the renewable energy pedal. Brazil, another major world economy, has also recently announced big renewable energy plans. A new national 10-year plan from Brazil shows that the country will triple its use of renewable energy by 2020 and that a lot of that energy will be wind energy.
