ABB is making a 1000 kW charger to get the Lilium Jet off the ground.
A network of 20 of ABB’s high-speed 50kW DC fast chargers for electric vehicles has been installed across Iceland as the island nation looks to electric vehicles to cut petrol imports and reduce emissions.
ABB has become one of the world’s leading EV charging station suppliers, and it is now leading the way into the compelling Indian market. The Indian subsidiary of the European electrical equipment giant has given a glimpse of its aggressive plans to capture a major share of this potentially giant market as India pursues its mission to adopt electric vehicles on a large scale.
In an email just sent my way, ABB has announced that it is about to launch its first 150–350 kW high-power charger, the new Terra HP High Power Charge system. You can’t touch the Terra HP in an IKEA parking lot yet, but you can check out the breakthrough charging product at EVS30 in Stuttgart, Germany. The dates for that event are October 9–11.

Earlier today, EVgo and ABB unveiled the first “High-Power” fast charger for EVs in the US in Fremont, California. Fremont is well known in EV circles as the home to Tesla and as such, is quickly becoming the epicenter of EV activity, as evidenced by this installation.

The team over at Volvo reached out to us to share that the Belgian cities of Charleroi and Namur have put in orders totaling 90 Volvo 7900 Electric Hybrid buses paired with 12 fast charging stations from ABB.
