The Disconnect Between CEO, Marketing & Engineering

This year has been a gigantic marketing hyperbole of planned electric vehicles from mainstream carmakers. It’s not always easy separating cars of tomorrow, cars that are being built today, and those that probably won’t make it into production. What makes it even worse is the disconnect between CEOs, marketing teams, and engineering teams, especially in light of actual deliverables.

BMW & Ford Electric Car Sales = 6% Of BMW & Ford US Car Sales…

BMW cars with a plug, electric motor, and battery are now approximately 1 out of every 16 BMW USA passenger car sales (6.4% of such sales), based on November’s sales split. That includes sales from 3 fully electric and plug-in hybrid BMW models: the BMW i3, BMW i8, and BMW 330e. The BMW X5 xDrive 40e was not included in this calculation since it falls under BMW’s “light trucks” category.

The California Air Resources Board had promulgated regulations requiring manufacturers to sell zero emission cars if they want to continue doing business in the state.

2016 Ford Focus Electric Review (In Extreme Depth!)

Don’t be shocked if you didn’t know about it, Ford does not advertise or push that it has an amazing product on its hands. For the few of us who have one, we appreciate that Ford has made it, are happy to be driving it, and are saving thousands of dollars in maintenance and fuel costs compared to an internal combustion car.
