If you could help plant more trees, just by switching your search engine from the one made by the tech giant that rhymes with bugle, wouldn’t you do so in a heartbeat? After all, trees are the lungs of the planet, and right now, we need some healthy lungs.

Well, you’re in luck, as that option already exists, and has managed to donate over one million euros to the World Wide Fund for Nature, as well as plant over 70,000 trees (with the help of the Nature Conservancy), thanks to their two million users.

Ecosia is the name of this green search engine (CO2 neutral), and it donates 80% of its advertising income from the service, in order to help support a tree planting program in Brazil.

Chip in a few dollars a month to help support independent cleantech coverage that helps to accelerate the cleantech revolution!

The service supports the Nature Conservancy program “Plant A Billion Trees”, which is working toward restoring the Brazilian Atlantic Forest with a goal of planting one billion native trees there.

Ecosia supports the “Plant A Billion Trees” program by The Nature Conservancy. This program aims to restore the Brazilian Atlantic Forest by planting one billion native trees.

Start planting trees with your internet searches by going to the Ecosia home page, or by adding an Ecosia extension to Firefox.
