The electric vehicle (EV) is Xpeng’s second car and resoundingly focuses on an intelligent, smart platform. The car is chock full of goodies, and the interior feels spacious, roomy, and very comfortable.

The French plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) market had 6,433 registrations in October, up 65% year over year (YoY). Interestingly, this time, it was the plug-in hybrids (+118%) pulling the market up the most, with BEVs growing “just” 53%.
The US electric vehicle market … is not the most interesting. Unfortunately, we have only one mass-market electric vehicle on the market, and there are very few models available across the nation. Actually, aside from Tesla’s offerings, I think only two fully electric models available at dealers practically anywhere are the Chevy Bolt and Nissan LEAF.
After a memorable month of September, the plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) markets in the Netherlands slowed down significantly, growing just 37% in September, with 2,776 registrations, translating into a PEV share of 8.1% in October. That keeps the 2019 PEV share at a record 10%.
Okay, let’s be frank: Tesla pushed the EV revolution up to today. Volkswagen Group execs, to their credit and honor, have basically said the same. Good on them. Also, before I completely shift away from Tesla and focus on Volkswagen, I certainly do think Tesla has a multi-year advantage on some key EV matters and I drive a Tesla Model 3 because I think it’s the best car on the market. Nonetheless, “first followers” are often just as important as the leaders.
Hyundai is partnering with Pony.ai and Via to provide autonomous ride-sharing services in Irvine, California. It will provide at least 10 specially modified Kona Electric SUVs to the BotRide experiment.
We start this month’s EV sales reports in the Netherlands. (Well, we already started there with another article, but here’s a second.) The Dutch plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) market grew a whopping 281% in September compared to the same month in 2018 (year over year, or YoY). The nation had 8,067 PEV registrations, the best month ever for plug-ins aside from previous fiscal-derived peaks in December 2013 (9,304 units), December 2015 (15,908), and December 2016 (11,132). So, all points to a record performance this coming December. How much, would you say? 16,000? 20,000? More?

The German plug-in electric vehicle market continued on the right track in August, having registered 8,121 units. Fully electric vehicles (BEVs) were up +104% year over year (YoY), while plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) keep suffering (down 9%). The plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) share was 2.6% in the month, with BEVs alone hitting 1.6%. That kept the 2019 plug-in share at 2.6% (1.7% BEV).
