In fact, solar likely will continue to flourish under the new administration because the industry creates jobs, prices are dropping, and it has consistently had support from both sides of the political aisle.
As Elon Musk expected, Tesla’s acquisition of SolarCity was overwhelmingly approved by shareholders. Over 85% of shareholders approved. Interestingly, that matches up quite closely with reader surveys we conducted. In our initial survey, 74% of respondents supported the acquisition. In our second survey a few months later, 89% of respondents supported the acquisition.
Energy and environmental issues matter to US voters much more than many candidates and party officials are aware — or than they let on, or than the mainstream press is reporting. American voters voice strong support for raising the priority of renewables on the White House agenda and expect it of the next president.
