Louisiana Clean Fuels and Clean Cities Coalition recently teamed up to bring the Clean Fuels Summit to New Orleans. This was an event that landed me in the Harrah’s Casino Hotel by the Riverwalk, where I could hear the blasts from the river cruises nearby. While it may have seemed that option was long retired in the electric vehicle world, Chinese startup NIO hasn’t abandoned the idea of swapping batteries in electric vehicles instead of — or complementary to — fast charging. The young company is currently building a sprawling network of battery swap stations throughout China.
