BYD has announced yet another rollout of 20 of its fully electric shuttle buses in South Korea’s Jeju Island. The project was comprised of 20 of BYD’s 15 passenger eBus-7 vehicles that, a perfect fit for the island’s narrow roads while still packing plenty of range (200 kilometers of range per charge).
Electric vehicle production in China will total more than 1 million cars next year, before rising to around 3 million a year by 2020, going by comments made recently by the chairman of the large auto manufacturer BAIC Group, Xu Heyi.
I thought the Zayed Future Energy Prize was cool when I first attended one of its awards ceremonies during the annual World Future Energy Summit and Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. BYD announced that the first commercial application of its SkyRail monorail mass transit solution opened for operation in Yinchuan, China, on September 1, 2017. The SkyRail system in Yinchuan is the first monorail solution installed in China that uses a straddle design where the vehicle sits on top of the monorail, hanging over both sides.

BYD’s elevated, layered urban transportation system SkyRail was given its international debut by the company at the recent C40 Mayors Summit in Mexico City, according to an email sent to CleanTechnica.
