The French plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) passenger car market ushered in 3,099 registrations in May, up just 4% year over year (YoY). Fully electric models (BEVs) grew slightly faster than plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) — BEVs +5%, PHEVs +2% — which is something that hadn’t been happening in recent months.
A new fully loaded Tesla Model 3, a new base Model 3, a used BMW i3, or a used Nissan LEAF — considering the possibilities and doing the calculations, things actually get more complicated. Read on and please do help me to speculate.
BMW is offering a $10,000 rebate to Southern California Edison customers through the end of April. Adding all available incentives together, customers could save $20,450 on a new electric car because of this offer.
2½ years ago, I asked readers here on CleanTechnica to help me out with a tough decision — which electric car to get. We were planning to move to Florida, or back to Florida in my case (I’ve been living in Poland for nearly 10 years now, and my wife is from here, so she has lived here most of her life). I left Florida 14 years ago (mid-2004) in large part because of the car-oriented, sprawling development patterns down there, but I’ve missed the wonderful beaches ever since and would also like my parents to have some time with my young daughters.

My first year with the first generation BMW i3 has left me somewhat baffled. It is perhaps the quickest car within city limits, ever. And on the twisty roads in the countryside, it will make you weary and speed blind at times. It will work those corners so hard, you will need to catch your breath after a while. The i3 is agile like nothing I have ever driven before. But something doesn’t add up…
The European passenger plug-in vehicle market had its best not-last-month-of-quarter record in November, with over 29,000 vehicles delivered to happy customers. This is the 7th time in the last 8 months that we saw +50% growth rates.
Deutsche Post DHL’s all-electric delivery vehicles — developed and manufactured by the wholly owned subsidiary Streetscooter GmbH — are now utilizing BMW i3 battery packs, according to a new press release from BMW itself.
BMW is currently on the verge of recalling every i3 sold in the US to date (that is, since the 2014 launch of the model), going on various data points and rumors.
