2018 Zayed Future Energy Prize (Cleantech Oscars) Finalists — Vote Now!

The 2018 Zayed Future Energy Prize awards ceremony is tomorrow, January 15. I’m here in Abu Dhabi for the awards since I was on the Review Committee and will be moderating a panel discussion between some of this year’s and previous years’ winners later in the week. I will also be covering the awards ceremony, of course, covering the World Future Energy Summit, and presenting and moderating panels at The Mobility Conference. As we’ve done in previous years, I thought it would be fun to run a poll among our readers about who you think will win Zayed Future Energy Prize awards in this 10th edition of the prize.

You can listen to the interview on the Dubai Eye 103.8 website, or you can just read the transcript below if you prefer that. Enjoy. And we hope to see some of you in the UAE and/or Oman next week!

One-Year BMW i3 Review — So Close To Perfection, But A Few Things Baffle Me

My first year with the first generation BMW i3 has left me somewhat baffled. It is perhaps the quickest car within city limits, ever. And on the twisty roads in the countryside, it will make you weary and speed blind at times. It will work those corners so hard, you will need to catch your breath after a while. The i3 is agile like nothing I have ever driven before. But something doesn’t add up…

It’s Not Just Shenzhen — Jaw-Dropping China Electric Bus Roundup

We’ve published a couple of articles recently on Shenzhen’s dramatic electrification of over 16,000 buses — something completely unprecedented around the world. But to say this is an isolated case of Chinese electric bus leadership would be to miss the much bigger and broader story. Below is a roundup of electric bus stories from China from November and December. The full article on EV Obsession covers the whole year, January–December of 2017, in this way. Check it all out if you want to really be blow away or want to turn your brain into a mesh of electric bus stories and statements. —Zach
