I was recently invited along for an exploration of horse whispering in Costa Rica. I made plans to stay at a horse ranch with 11 horses, 2 goats, countless roosters crowing all night long (no, not cock-a-doodle-doo, but “You woke me up”), 4 cats, 1 dog, birds, iguanas, cows (peeking into the wide open bathroom windows — as my traveling companion said, “The neighbors are spying on me”), and so many critters.
Rivian took the Los Angeles Auto Show by storm for the reveal of its fully electric truck and SUV. Both are based on the same skateboard-style electric chassis, which will be available with three different battery sizes for a maximum range of 400+ miles per charge in the largest configuration.
EVA is a new electric air mobility startup we met at LA Automobility 2018. It has a promising electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The eVTOL is small, 100% autonomous, and sports an ingenious configuration. It uses wings that retract when taking off and landing. EVA says it is months away from certifications and from flying the machine.

Whanganui district councillor and dental surgeon Dr. Hadleigh Reid recently purchased a Model S, one of several hundred Teslas in New Zealand. In 2017, it was reported that he and another councillor, Josh Chandulal-Mackay, were working to bring an EV charger to Whanganui. At the time, Reid said getting a charging station could enhance tourism, and bringing more visitors to the area was one of the ideas he had when he was running for office to support economic development.
