Tesla = 3rd Most Valuable Automaker In The World

With the companies recent stock price rise, Tesla [TSLA] has surpassed Daimler for the #3 spot on the list of most valuable automakers in the world. This is on the heels of news of Gigafactory 4’s location — Berlin — which makes the milestone especially interesting. Many may see Tesla coming to Germany as a slap in the face of some of the legacy automakers, but I see it simply as Tesla establishing another foothold as it climbs its own personal mountain. That mountain is its goal of accelerating society’s transition to 100% sustainable energy.

Tesla Model S Plaid Prototype Laps the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7:13

Respected German publication Auto Motor und Sport is reporting that the Tesla Model S Plaid prototype has been hand-timed lapping the Nordschleife in 7 minutes and 13 seconds, according to the outlet’s local source. Adjusting for race-compound tires, this puts the Tesla around 19 seconds ahead of the Taycan Turbo’s 7:42 lap time reported by Porsche in August. It’s also faster than every gas-powered 4-door series production car ’round the ‘ring.

Polestar Pricing … Electric Mazda … Tesla Model 3 = #6 In USA — CleanTechnica…

The most popular CleanTechnica stories of October were led by Polestar and Mazda. Seriously. No offense to Polestar or Mazda (okay, some offense to Polestar and Mazda), but I wouldn’t have seen that coming a mile away. Does this show a great thirst for more EV news beyond Tesla and more serious EV entries? Possibly. Or it was just some lucky timing and catchy headlines. Or all of the above. In any case, that’s where things landed in October. Tesla still dominated the top 20, with 15 out of 20 stories, but it was an interesting phenomenon to see the company almost pushed out of the top 3.

Aluminum-Air Battery … Chevy Bolt & Hyundai Kona vs. Tesla Model 3 Sales … The…

The most popular CleanTechnica stories of the past week were led by a (somewhat wild) claim of an aluminum-air battery breakthrough. Yup, really. After that, it was almost all Tesla — Tesla Model 3 sales compared to other top EV sales, buying a gas “luxury car” competitor to a Tesla, Tesla disruption in Norway, Elon Musk and Tesla proving naysayers wrong, a Tesla fire, Tesla software updates.

Aptera’s Green Recipe May Break Real Outlaw Speed Records

Aptera was big news almost a decade ago, but failed to make it to production. Now, it’s back and has bigger plans than ever. Not only does the company plan on building the original vehicle, but it’s also aiming for 1,000 miles of range on a charge. On top of that, Aptera is hoping to add enough solar power to cover the daily driving needs of most American drivers without plugging the car in at all.
