For those who follow the fully electric car market, 2016 was exciting. GM introduced the Chevy Bolt a full year ahead of Tesla’s Model 3. It was the first long-range affordable electric car in the United States. For many reasons, we did not really see it in most of Europe.
I spent 30 minutes on the phone with Workhorse CEO Steve Burns this week and learned more about all the exciting things happening with the company. Read on to find out where this American manufacturer of electric delivery vans and pickup trucks is headed in 2019.
COP24 is behind us and I am still deep in materials, interviews, and reflections after the event. And trust me, reflections are not easy when you are Polish. I finally got a call to come and test drive the 2018 Chevy Bolt. It was worth the wait. I enjoyed the dynamic little EV. I prefer small cars in general — something to take you where you need to go without a lot of space grabbing. The Bolt fit the bill and at the same time seemed to offer enough all-electric car advantages to genuinely consider it.
The Green Party in Australia is proposing a ban on all internal combustion cars and light trucks by 2030 as part of a series of measures designed to boost sales of electric cars Down Under.
Mazda says it may use a small version of of its rotary power plant as a range extender engine for plug-in hybrid vehicles. Its compact dimensions and low weight could make it ideal for just such an application.
