CleanTechnica is proud to once again be a media partner of Masdar for its 2016 Engage Blogging contest, which this year is focused on the topic of how the private sector can cooperate with governments to address climate change in order to best help us transition to a low-carbon economy by 2030.
Each year, tens of thousands of sustainability leaders from all walks of life, including government officials, private sector professionals, and members of NGOs, travel to the UAE for the annual Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, which seeks to provide a forum for addressing the challenges of renewable energy and sustainable development.
This gathering is the largest of its kind in the Middle East, and brings together thought leaders, investors, and policy makers with the aim of enabling collaborative thinking and development of sustainable solutions for a world headed to a population of 9 billion people in the year 2030.
And you can win a free trip to attend this sustainability event as a guest VIP blogger, all expenses paid, courtesy of Masdar, if your submission is chosen by the judging panel of the 2016 Engage Blogging Contest. The contest page, which is titled The Transition to a Low-Carbon Economy by 2030, has more details, but in a nutshell, the winning entry will have a creative approach for better public-private cooperation in working toward decarbonizing the global economy:
Masdar’s 2016 blogging contest is all about how business can cooperate with government on addressing climate change and help society transition to a low-carbon economy within the next 15 years.
To enter this year’s blogging contest, you must write and publish your answer to the following question:
“In your view, what are the policies that governments should adopt to encourage public-private partnership and enable the private sector to develop the goods and services necessary for a global transition to a low-carbon economy by 2030?”
- Write an article or blog post and publish it at your blog with a link to the 2016 Masdar Engage Blogging Contest page (if you don’t have a blog, you may send submissions to email@example.com). IMPORTANT: Please leave a comment on the page linked above with a link to your post AND on your blog, and do not forget to mention the Masdar Engage Blogging Contest, plus link back to www.masdar.ae/adsw/engage to help us find your post. The deadline is the end of the day on Monday, January 4, 2016, at midnight Eastern Standard Time.
- Qualifying content will be posted on the Masdar web site. Limit one (1) entry per person.
- Winning Selection: A judging panel will review qualifying entries and will weigh:
a) the overall quality of the post;
b) the number of votes for the post on the Masdar website;
c) and the number of Tweets, Facebook “Likes” and “Shares” through social channels (on both Masdar and the writer’s websites). Voting will continue until midnight EST on January 6, 2016.
We all have a tendency to sometimes think, “If I was in charge, I’d do it this way.” Here’s your chance to tell the world what you’d do, and why, so write up and submit your creative answer to the above question today.
