Tesla is helping Australian bushfire victims with its part in the collective efforts alongside 5B, a solar provider in Sydney, and Mike Cannon-Brooks, the founder of Atlassian. The goal is to install solar panels and batteries in towns that have lost power completely due to the devastating bushfires of 2019–2020.

Hawaiian Electric (HECO) recently added 2.5MW of grid services to its grid, allowing it to store energy during peak solar and wind production periods, and did so without any traditional batteries, flywheels, or pumped hydro. Even better, the hardware required is very minimal, and in fact, most of it already exists in every residential grid in the world.

A new community of apartments in Herriman, Utah is being built from the ground up with a next generation energy storage system thanks to 12.6 megawatt-hours of sonnen’s ecoLinx battery systems. The new system will aggregate the energy storage and power output capabilities of 600 of sonnen’s 20 kWh ecoLinx intelligent energy storage units installed across the community into a single virtual power plant.
