Philips Hue White Ambiance Adds Intelligence & Choice To Home Lighting

Leading the pack is the Philips Hue system, which is comprised of an internet-connected bridge that gets plugged into power and an internet-connected ethernet port somewhere central in the home, which is about the size of a hockey puck. This bridge to rule all bridges is then able to talk to any Philips Hue bulbs in the house and to Philips’ Hue smartphone app, putting control of said LED bulbs in your pocket for up to 50 Hue lights per bridge.

It seems like every CleanTechnica reader I meet these days is also a Fully Charged viewer. “Back in the day,” I remember seeing just a few thousand (or even few hundred?) views on Fully Charged videos, but the viewership is now through the roof. I’m sure in good part it’s down to the wicked good job the team does of highlighting interesting cleantech topics in fun ways.

While in Abu Dhabi for the 2018 Zayed Future Energy Prize, the World Future Energy Summit, and the Global EVRT event, I met an interesting character with an spirit of adventure in his genes — Sushil Pakala Reddy. Sushil, an energy engineer, is an IIT Bombay alumnus from Mumbai, India. I am an Energy Engineer. He’s currently getting a master’s degree in Sustainability at HEC Paris, a university in Jouy-en-Josas.

We had a fun CleanTechnica meetup last year on the night before the conference (which is actually how we ended up with Maarten as a superb CleanTechnica contributor).
