Could India Really Become 1st Fully Electric Car Country?

Last year, when I presented* at a big institutional investment conference in India, there was a lot of talk about solar, but little about electric vehicles. Of course, a large portion of my presentation was about Tesla and electric cars. The presentation* from Indian Minister of Coal, Power, and New & Renewable Energy, Piyush Goyal, highlighted the highly competitive cost of solar power but didn’t really touch electric vehicles.

India Will Fly Forward With Cleantech & Climate Action Despite Donald Trump (CleanTechnica Exclusive)

I was lucky to be recording a panel discussion in Abu Dhabi in January when cleantech expert Michael Liebreich, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF), asked Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of State with Independent Charge for Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy and Mines, what India would do if the USA pulled out of the Paris Agreement (in order to satisfy the conspiracy theories and financial interests of Donald Trump). Piyush delivered an epic response.

rEVolution (Video)

I gave a presentation in March in Amsterdam (Holland) at EV-Box’s first annual rEVolution summit. When creating my presentation, I decided to dive into a theme that I’ve been increasingly compelled to present on — how do you communicate electric transport to “outsiders” in the most effective way?

Going Global: EV-Box’s Elvi (#CleanTechnica Original)

When I headed over to Amsterdam a few weeks ago to give a presentation at rEVolution 2017, I expected EV-Box would have some cool news to share, but I didn’t expect as much as I got on the product side or the business/ownership side. I’ll touch on the latter briefly here, but I covered it in a couple of previous articles and will dig into it more in another CleanTechnica exclusive soon, but I think there’s a big story when it comes to Elvi that perhaps doesn’t seem so notable on the surface and needs extra effort to highlight.

Tesla Model 3 Test Track Video (#CleanTechnica Exclusive From Unveiling Night, Abridged)

One year ago, Kyle Field and I were in Los Angeles to see the unveiling of perhaps the most influential car in history. The introduction of the Tesla Model 3 seems as exciting today as it was a year ago — in some ways, a bit more exciting; and in some ways, a bit less exciting. I’ll chat more about that after the video, but the video is the focus of the article.

Electrifying Amsterdam Schiphol Airport — Tesla Taxis, Electric Buses, Etc. (#CleanTechnica Original)

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is incrementally electrifying transportation on, from, and to the aviation hub. Being the largest airport in the Netherlands and the 3rd largest player in Europe, with 63.6 million passengers handled in 2016, Schiphol has expressed an ambition to become the most sustainable airport in the world. An important means of reaching this goal is by switching over to electric drivetrains for vehicles operating on the airport itself, as well as for transportation of passengers to and from Schiphol Airport.
