Consumers Expect EVs, Hyperloops, & Home Robots By 2030, According To Dassault Systemes

Dassault Systèmes and CITE Research sent us the findings of a survey for understanding how consumers expect technology to impact their lives by the year 2030. The survey focused on home, travel, health, and retail. This comes on the heels of another NPR survey that says Americans are feeling more optimistic about their personal future, just not about politics. The study shows consumers expect Hyperloops, fully connected smart home systems, mobile payments, and personalized preventive health plans, among other things.

Miami People Mover — Autonomous, Electric, & Free

The Miami Metromover covers 4.4 miles without a driver, runs on electricity every day from 5:00 am to midnight, and lets people ride without paying a penny. It serves the downtown Miami area, and some of its destinations are American Airlines Arena, Miami-Dade College, Miami-Dade County School Board, and Bayside Market Place. 

Clarence Eckerson gave it a very enthusiastic review in a video he posted on Vimeo. He particularly notes the city scenery that can be filmed while riding.

Los Angeles and Long Beach, California, together have the second busiest port in the US. Both harbors are next to cement factories and petroleum refineries. Trucks coming in and out of the harbor on the always congested 710 highway belch and spew dirty diesel particulates in the neighboring community. In fact, kindergartens and schools conveniently located next to the highway are the hardest hit. Child asthma has skyrocketed over the decades, to the point where these children will never have fully developed lungs.
