Tesla May Win “Monopoly”

Financial investment company Berenberg has completed an analysis of Tesla and concluded its stock, currently priced at about $380 per share, could surge another 30% in the next 12 months. In fact, the analyst team, headed by Alexander Haissl, claims the company could soon have a near monopoly in the market for electric cars.

Texas Trolls Tesla (Again)

The Texas legislature wrapped up its latest session by passing a law renewing a $2,500 rebate for Texans who purchase a qualifying low- or zero-emissions car. The program began in 2013 as part of the state’s Emissions Reduction Program and applied to electric cars, fuel cell cars, and cars powered by compressed natural gas.

Stanford Tackles Wireless EV Charging

Some of you are going to read this and say, “Ho hum. Another useless story about some silly lab experiment that has no relevance to the real world.” And you could be right. There may be nothing here. With the desire to create a nice-looking charging station that tucks away well, Artur Sychov, recently invented the device and founded EasyCharge.me.

Artur will be a presenter and panelist at our upcoming Cleantech Revolution Tour conference, but we also ran across a great “Fully Charged” video of what he has created that seemed worth a story itself.

Could India Really Become 1st Fully Electric Car Country?

Last year, when I presented* at a big institutional investment conference in India, there was a lot of talk about solar, but little about electric vehicles. Of course, a large portion of my presentation was about Tesla and electric cars. The presentation* from Indian Minister of Coal, Power, and New & Renewable Energy, Piyush Goyal, highlighted the highly competitive cost of solar power but didn’t really touch electric vehicles.
