Tesla Model 3 V3 Supercharging Times: 2% To 100% State of Charge (Video)

November 18th, 2019 | by Cynthia Shahan

VegasModel3 posted a video that answers the most asked EV question I've encountered. Although, the answer to this question is particular to the Tesla Model 3. It won't answer the question for all EVs. That question is typically the beginning question before someone delves further into the world of electric cars

Ford Mustang Mach-E Details Warrant Thunderous Welcome — CleanTechnica Review

November 17th, 2019 | by Jennifer Sensiba

Lots of ink has already been spilled over the new Ford Mustang Mach-E. With press leaks, bloggers breaking embargo, and even Ford accidentally publishing information about the vehicle, most of this information is already out there on the internet, and some of it is even in prior articles on CleanTechnica

12 Reasons Why The Ford Mustang Mach E Will Be A Huge Hit

November 16th, 2019 | by Paul Fosse

Before I explain all the reasons why the Ford Mustang Mach E will be successful, I want to mention that this is no "Tesla Killer." We will have detailed articles explaining why this car won't "kill" Tesla after the reveal, but short version is this car will take most of its market share from the 99% of vehicles that are gas or diesel powered. Other media outlets will promote the false narrative that Ford, Tesla, and all other EVs are fighting each other for the 1% of people who want EVs, and thus, if this car sells well, many of those sales come directly from Tesla

Kazakhstan To Tesla: Welcome, Elon Musk & Tesla

November 16th, 2019 | by Johnna Crider

Kazakhstan now has its first Tesla Supercharger. This is evidence of yet another promise by Elon Musk that has been kept. During the Tesla Model Y event, while Elon Musk was talking, someone mentioned Kazakhstan in the audience and Elon said, "Actually, we have some great supporters in Kazakhstan." Elon followed that up -- after several loud cheers -- with a promise: "We will build Superchargers in Kazakhstan! You heard it right here."

13 Non-Tesla Electric Vehicle Stories You Might Have Missed

November 15th, 2019 | by Zachary Shahan

There's too much electric vehicle news to cover every week to have full stories on all of the pieces. Writers pick the stories that interest them, which leaves many less glamorous items (especially non-Tesla news) on the bench. To make up for that a bit and highlight several stories that I think shouldn't be skipped, below is a roundup of recent electric vehicle news

Tesla Superchargers in Tunisia?

November 14th, 2019 | by Johnna Crider

Tunisia is not only the first democratic Arab country, but it is also a place for Tesla owners and advocates. Tesla owners in Tunisia have already made Tesla road trips possible for Tesla owners living or traveling through Tunisia thanks to their initiatives to install Tesla wall chargers in several locations throughout the country. Tesla Club Tunisia has also now taken the initiative to bring Tesla's Supercharging network to Tunisia. Although they are doing this from their own funds, the goal is to make it easier for Tesla owners in Tunisia and traveling through the small country to have access to charging

November 14th, 2019 | by Charles W. Thurston

Burlingame, California Mayor Donna Colson inaugurated a unique six-unit dual axis solar tracker car canopy at the Kahala Tower near the San Francisco Airport, on November 13. The commercial installation is being called the first of its kind in the United States because of the technology involved.

Tesla Critics Don’t Understand (Or Just Ignore) Tesla’s Mission

November 13th, 2019 | by Zachary Shahan

I used to find the debate between Tesla critics (most notably short sellers) and Tesla fans as somewhat interesting but mostly straightforward. Tesla critics somehow thought that Tesla inherently couldn't make profits on its products. Tesla fans thought and explained how Tesla could. Tesla critics thought Tesla couldn't learn the art and skill of efficient, smooth mass production. Tesla fans noted many times, this isn't rocket science (ahem). Tesla critics thought major automakers would come out with electric vehicles superior to what Tesla offered and would thus kill the company. Tesla fans highlighted Tesla's leadership in batteries, software, self-driving tech, design, customer communications, and overall reputation

SolarEdge Is Building Out A New Solution For EV Charger Load Sharing

November 9th, 2019 | by Kyle Field

CleanTechnica sat down with SolarEdge co-founder and VP of marketing and product strategy, Lior Handelsman, at SPI 2019 for a nice long chat about the company's new Smart Home tech. Along the way, Lior mentioned that SolarEdge is also developing intelligent, connected EV charging tech that will allow multiple charging stations on a single circuit to load balance between themselves without exceeding the capacity of the circuit

Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus Now Supercharges At Up To 170 kW — Charts!

November 5th, 2019 | by Dr. Maximilian Holland

The latest Tesla software update (2019.36.1) has unlocked the full DC charging potential of the Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus (SR+). The Model 3 SR+, with this update, has a 170 kW charging peak, up from the previous 100–105 kW peak. This means that the SR+ battery charge rate (C-rate) is now approximately in line with that of the Model 3 Long Range variants, albeit scaled for the different battery size

Tesla’s Growth Will Increasingly Be Powered By International Markets

November 5th, 2019 | by Guest Contributor

Tesla’s third-quarter results came as a big surprise to Wall Street — the stock soared in the days following the earnings release. Apart from the unexpected profits, there were several important facts that emerged from the report for investors. For instance, while Tesla’s revenue grew strongly in overseas markets, revenue dropped at double-digit rates in the United States

Polestar Pricing … Electric Mazda … Tesla Model 3 = #6 In USA — CleanTechnica Top 20

November 4th, 2019 | by Zachary Shahan

The most popular CleanTechnica stories of October were led by Polestar and Mazda. Seriously. No offense to Polestar or Mazda (okay, some offense to Polestar and Mazda), but I wouldn't have seen that coming a mile away. Does this show a great thirst for more EV news beyond Tesla and more serious EV entries? Possibly. Or it was just some lucky timing and catchy headlines. Or all of the above. In any case, that's where things landed in October. Tesla still dominated the top 20, with 15 out of 20 stories, but it was an interesting phenomenon to see the company almost pushed out of the top
