Power To Methane

The idea behind power-to-gas has been around for a while. It uses electric power to produce gaseous fuel, usually hydrogen. The advantages are that it can be used to take up excess electric energy from renewable generation in a chemical form. Later, the fuel can be used as needed.

Munro Academy Teaches Students About Renewables With Hands-On Projects

One of the challenges posed to students was focused on climate change. What can be done at the school to reduce its carbon footprint and more than that, to impact Cape Breton Island in a positive way? The students were filled with ideas and opened up the floodgates to their teachers.  Out of the long list and through a process of discussion, several ideas rose to the top and were selected as the focus on action for the project.

Elektrownie Next’s Virtual Power Plant Brings 35 Megawatts of Solar PV into Polish Energy Mix

Next Kraftwerke has announced that its Polish subsidiary Elektrownie Next will begin trading electricity produced by the 35 megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic portfolio owned by ReneSola. Next Kraftwerke has connected more than 5,000 energy-producing and energy-consuming units in its virtual power plant “Next Pool,” with a total capacity of over 4,100 MW.
